We are Marc and Sue Manning
We have owned Akitas since 1988, and owned Shibas since 1998. Our love for Akitas started with Marc falling in love with the breed long before we owned one. When we finally obtained our first Akita, it gave us a better understanding of the intelligence of the breed. It was then we knew we weren't going to stop at one. We soon added two more Akitas to our group.
From the beginning our goal was to breed Akitas with sound bodies and minds. We were determined to have sweet mild mannered Akitas in our breeding program. It was soundness of body with the right temperment first and foremost. Color was and is a secondary issue.
When we decided to get Shibas this was Tiffini's idea (our oldest daughter). She had fallen in love with the breed. She showed our first Shiba Taka to his championship in only 10 shows with 4 group placements. It took us a bit longer to aquire the right female for this outstanding boy.
Of course with the Shibas we were looking for the same soundness as with our Akitas. Mind and body first color second. We have all three colors of Shibas, Black and Tan, Red and Sesame.
